The working group exists to create socialist publications rooted in San Antonio and to cultivate essayists, poets and critics, both in the visual and written forms. Through art and commentary, we want to connect the local chapter with the needs and aspirations of the working class, from this town at a crossroads of the Southwest and to the nodes of struggle across the world.

The Communist Manifesto was first published in the English language around 1850 for a Chartist newspaper based in London named The Red Republican. Pioneering feminist Helen Macfarlane did the translation. It wasn't published in the USA until a dozen years later, in Woodhull and Claflin's Weekly. All of these periodicals were short-lived, despite the enduring relevance of Karl Marx and Fredrich Engels' Q&A pamphlet.

I told some brothers the other day, “You want to organize all the African students on the campus? I can do it overnight.
